Lucca restaurant opened April 1st, 2003. During the course of the last 5 years, it has been a pleasure and a privilege to be mentioned in many newspaper articles- as well as featured in more than a dozen news and television programs shown throughout the Sacramento area.

Recently, Lucca's received the distinguished award by the state of California to be chosen as the restaurant to represent and illuminate the California Fresh Campaign; highlighting the benefits of locally grown and sustainable agriculture and emphasizing the bounty of California's farmlands. Serving as a backdrop to the Governor's speeches in Japan, the lushly gardened courtyard presented a lovely promotion of our beautiful and culinary inclined state.

We look forward to seeing you at Lucca,

Downtown Chamber Building Gets Popular
Bob Shallit December 24th, 2003

Star search: Commercial broker John Frisch figures 2004 will be a banner year for downtown restaurants. The emergence of lot of new, intriguing eateries is part of the reason. Equally important, he says, is “the Arnold factor.”

People want to eat downtown on the off-chance they'll encounter the governor. Frisch had a lunch the other day with a developer-client from the Bay Area. The client insisted they go to the Esquire Grill because he'd heard the place is a Schwarzenegger haunt. The guv never showed , “but we had a good time anyway,” says Frisch, the managing partner at Cornish & Carey.

Frisch isn't immune to the appeal of a potential Arnold sighting. One of his few friends recently told Frisch he'd eaten the night before at Lucca – the new popular J Street restaurant – and was seated near the governor and his family. The shook hands, exchanged a few words. Three days after hearing the story, Frisch and his wife, Maggie, ate out downtown, at Lucca.
